| Located on the peninsula Hermannswerder, directly across from the center of Potsdam, this site was the location of a historical saw mill which only recently ceased production. Located along the waterside, it has been planned to develop this idyllic setting as a mixed-use ensemble containing housing, a small conference center, and workshop. |

| The workshop consists of a long, two-storey production hall and a smaller building containing the cafeteria on the ground level and sanitary facilities on the upper floor. Connecting the two is a glass and steel entrance hall/lobby with a lightweight staircase. |

| Due to the sensitive nature of the site and the proximity to many of their buildings, the architectural style and materials of the workshop is based on the design principles of Schinkel and Persius. Simple wall openings for doors and windows, pitched roofs of metal, earth-tone colors, and the use of classic proportions help produce an elegant, quiet composition which will sit quietly along the water. |
