Brunnenstrasse 22, Berlin

The building, which has been standing empty and gutted for several years, will be converted from an apartment to a multi-purpose structure, and will serve to house a foundation for the research, publication, as well as production of an artist’s work.

A new core containing the stairs and lift is planned as the central, vertical access. The individual floors are designed so that all rooms are interconnected, flowing around the core, which reflects the method of creative work of the client.

The new floor and roof construction is as light as possible in order to re-use the existing walls and foundations, thus making significant cost savings.
